Did I dream this? I assumed I would be able to search with my voice "The Matrix" and it would show me options from Netflix, Hulu, Google Play, etc. This is one of the huge drawbacks to cordcutting for me and I was hoping Android TV would solve it - I'm not seeing that.
I have other complaints, but this is my big one.
This is entirely possible, but for whatever reason, didn't see much adoption at all, even among Google's featured launch partners. I've seen it with the Bloomberg+ app, and I added support in Class6ix , but most of the big guys seem to have overlooked it for the time being. The implementation isn't actually using the new functionality referenced, but instead relies upon global search capabilities that have been around since FroYo.
From what I've read, it's up to the app developers to enable this from their app.
See this article written about phone apps but I think it applies to the Nexus Player as well. So I think we should have universal search once the apps start enabling it.
