Has official support arrived yet? I've heard it can be side loaded, but is it in a TV friendly UI?
As my Sony NSZ-GS7 collects dust, and I see other devices getting support that Android TV isn't(Sling, HBO Now, etc.) I'm nervous about getting a Nexus Player, Shield Console, etc.
I called them like 2 weeks ago and asked. The lady said it was close and should be a couple weeks... Do I think she really had any idea? No, not really. But it made me feel better at the time. They've been saying Xbox One and Android TV coming soon since the beginning and Xbone's dropped like a week ago. I'm hoping we aren't too far behind.
If you go on their website it says Nexus Player support is coming soon.
It is a very TV friendly interface, and it has been from day one. They just updated the service recently that made it so the original APK that they released no longer works, and the newest APK on Google Play says it is incompatible. However there is a modified APK going around that not only works, it shows up on the main screen like any other Android TV app would, which is very nice.
TLDR - Yes, there is a working APK to sideload. Official support hasn't arrived.
