I'm having a problem where my Nexus Player will not let me select a 5.1 audio track in the Netflix app or when casting via Netflix. The don't even show up as an option. I don't have any problem with my Chromecast. 5.1 works with Google Play Movies & TV. Anyone else experience this?
I found this post while googling the same issue I was having with my Nexus Player. Looks like this post was created 2 months ago. Are you still having the issue? Seems like they would fix it sooner than 2 months. By default everything starts set to Dolby 5.1, but if you hit play with that set you just hear a bunch of clicking and static. Setting it to stereo allows you to hear the audio just fine. Does that sound like the issue you're having?
Yes, apparently it is the Apps issue. Netflix need to update their app to have it play 5.1. Source, some Android forum somewhere when I Googled the issue a few weeks ago.
