Now two immediate questions come to mind..

1. Interesting to learn how noisy the cooling fan will be..
2. Can the 16GB version be retrofitted with a harddrive..?

Dang the remote is going to be that expensive. That's too bad.

Can I hook an external HDD up to this and play .mkvs in VLC? Can the HDD be available on the network, so that I can drag and drop files onto it?

Oooh, if this works for Plex as well it'd be awesome, been waiting for an alternative to a Roku with real multichannel on Plex.

From what I've read local file playback of some formats is limited due to licensing agreements not being bought but the possibility for an add-on license pack might be possible. I also might start encoding my blu-ray rips to HEVC

Doesn't a remote come in the box?
