Shield TV in Canada?

by benbar21

I noticed that Nvidia's press release said that the Shield TV is available in Canada and the US now.

I can't find it anywhere in Canada; anyone know if it's going to come to bestbuy/amazon soon?

Although Nvidia is shipping the Shield Android TV to US and Canadian customers, it won't actually be available through Canadian retailers until much later, maybe even as late as Q4 as is the case with the UK.

On the NCIX Forums, a customer inquired about the device and someone from NCIX responded:

"Not officially launched in Canada yet. Official launch is a while away."

Bought mine on Amazon. $10 shipping + $10 import charge was cheaper than the $35 Nvidia was charging. NCIX, Amazon.ca, Memex and others all told me launch is awhile away from Canadian launch.

I've been wondering the same thing. I canceled my order with Nvidia. Prices are in USD so we have the exchange rate to deal with, $35 shipping, plus customs charges most likely. I'll wait.

Ordered mine Saturday and got it today. No import charges or taxes.

I see memory express has the 16GB on their website now although no stock. A little disappointed that it's listed at 299 though. I know our dollar isn't great right now but that's not even close to current conversion. I thought it would come in at 240 or 250 max. Hopefully that price is just a placeholder or something. http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX57834

I got it off amazon.com to ship to QC.... It's $209.47 (before tax) plus $30.47 (import fees) for a total of $239.94 (no tax). So you can get one, but these are US prices so you're paying quite a bit more.

I know this is an old post but I am still having issues finding one of these units in Canada. I assumed it would be available now to coincide with the European release.
