Can't get Netflix to work with the Nvidia Shield

by axschech

I just received my Nvidia Shield Android TV device (why, Nvidia did you decide to just name it "Nvidia Shield") and I can't seem to get Netflix to work.

Everytime I try I get one of these stupid error messages: "We're having trouble playing this title right now. Please try again later or select a different title".

I've made sure I have the latest version of the Netflix app (there was a 9.3 mb update) and it still won't work.

Anyone else encountering a similar issue?

Edit: Apparently it's a known issue! Thanks /u/drewpy_drew

Same issue here. Casting Netflix doesn't work either even after the update. Also having issues with the play store not loading sometimes.

Edit: Looks like a number of people are having the same problem. Nvidia is in contact with Netflix trying to fix it.

I was able to use it all weekend without issues. Even watching 4k title. Have not tried today though.

Seems to be working now for me! Let's hope it stays that way. Just started working this morning.

It was a known issue. According to NVIDIA its working again

I had that issue, but it went away after a reboot.

I'm having trouble too but mine is a bit different. I can't log into Netflix at all. In the details page I see it is error NW-3-6 which seems to be related to a DNS issue. Maybe I will try to use Google's public DNS instead of my ISPs. One weird thing though, is that it says the IP address is 192.168.49.1 even though it isn't. I have no trouble connecting to any other service on the Shield. It is only Netflix that isn't working.

hey so i just fired up my Shield for the first time and noticed that the Netflix app isnt installed?

i've gone to the google store and its not listed as an app either. Netflix is available in my country and i have the app already for both android and my nexus player... what gives?!
