I got the new play store when I powered up my nexus player today and now the google play store just gives me the loading spinner endlessly. Other apps have network access. Killing the app via settings and even restarting it do nothing. Cleared data and nothing.
What do I do? This thing is literally two days old.
Weird. You could do a factory reset, I guess. Most of the content should be cloud based anyway.
not what I wanted to see today, my shield arrives today :(
I had the same problem on my shield. Gave it an hour while I played a game and it started working just fine.
Mine is acting weird too on the nvidia shield today.
I've experienced this across all devices. The only fix I've found is to let it be for a good while. I've had it pulled up on the screen, went to lunch, and when I returned it was working without issue.
Dont think its just the nexus player, i have the shield and this problem just started for me too.
edit: after a while of loading and restarting, when trying to open the app, it finally prompted me to accept the new terms and conditions and it works again.
