I would love to be able to hook up my broadcast antenna to an AndroidTV without having to use a service like HD HomeRun.

Edit: from this thread it seems like they are supported to some fashion. Not sure how it works with drivers and such
The HDHomeRun is like a fancy tv tuner that works over your network. The HDHomeRun Extend is the one you want for 1080p broadcast antenna.
It's $60 more than the xbox one usb tv tuner though. An article stated that Nvidia mentioned a tv tuner for the shield but no products have been announced.
Edit: The subscription they will be selling soon is only for their DVR software, which you do not have to use or pay for if you don't want to. People on here have said that it works well with the LiveTV app.
HDHomeRun isn't a service.
