Those of you using the SHIELD for gamestream, how is it?

by eoinster

I mean overall, how responsive and lag-free is it? Should I expect an interface similar to Moonlight on my phone? How does the controller work, is it recognised as an Xbox controller in all games? Is aiming for 1080p 60fps unrealistic? Sorry for the onslaught of questions, just need to know if it will work flawlessly since it's the key reason I'm interested.

I use mine for GameStream quite a bit. My issue lies in using using multiple controllers. On some games they work, some they don't.

Works fine. Moonlight reports only 1-2 ms lag. Using MoCa/ethernet connectivity. Problem is if you don't want to use the SHIELD controller. I prefer the 360 controller - but their official streaming app doesn't work 100% with it. Dpad is not functional among other things. Meanwhile - in Moonlight - 360 controller works 100%

Local gamestream works great for me over a gigabit connection. The quality is indistinguishable from the local monitor and there is no detectable lag.

I'm using GRID to play Borderlands at 1080p and lag is completely indistinguishable 99% of the time. I know that's not exactly what you're asking, but it's similar?

I use moonlight on my Nexus Player.

Works like a champ, you should have an even better experience.

This is 1080@60Hz, with 40mbps bandwidth. looks and plays great from my GTX 670.
