Does the shield tv's widi controller work in windows?

The shield TV box comes with a widi controller. Does this work in windows?

I don't know what you mean with widi (perhaps wifi?) but the controller works wired with Windows if you have an Nvidia gpu to upgrade the firmware

When hooked up with a USB cable only it does.

It has to be wired via a micro USB cable, and you need to have a Nvidia graphics card since the required drivers only come with the GeForce Experience software.
