Can't get my Nexus Player remote to reconnect

by hylian122

I was using the Sixaxis Controller app to use a PS3 controller on my (rooted) Nexus Player, but now the included remote won't reconnect even though the Sixaxis app said BT settings were returned to normal. I'm up to the "factory reset" step in Google's official troubleshooting, but obviously I'd like to fix it without such drastic measures. Any thoughts?

Hold back and the circle button, also press the button under the nexus player once.

Unplug the Nexus player and allow it to reset, also pull the batteries from the remote and allow it to reset.

Sorry to say the Bluetooth connection in the Nexus Player is garbage. I was using the app on my phone until it updated, which also turned it to garbage. I had to grab an old .apk file to downgrade to make it work consistently.

If you search Google, we aren't the only ones having these issues.

If you tried every suggestion posted here then, I can only assume, since you have Sixaxis, you are rooted... so... something must have gone wrong. Try to flash a stock image and try again. If you don't know where to start, use the Nexus Root Toolkit by Wugfresh.

I know this is late but posting this here since this is one of the first results on Google when searching this issue. I found the solution on xda

Basically running these commands in terminal fixes it and avoids having to do factory reset.
