I haven't seen the video.

But 1 is double the price of the other, of course it's the better item...

I've been waiting for a platform like Android TV for almost 10 years. Right around the time I learned how to use Xbox 360 to stream from my PC. Owned Rokus, Apple TV, and chromecast before the NP and they all left me wanting more.

The NP definitely has its downside in bugs and what not, but I finally have something that does everything I need it to.

The Shield looks dope, but I can't justify the cost as the NP runs all the emulators I want for gaming just fine. I don't see myself upgrading until a box with HDMI pass thru comes along or until cable companies deliver their full offering via Android TV.

Would love all media under one roof, learning my viewing habits and delivering recommendations to the home screen including what I watch via cable.

I bought a Nexus Player and am sorely disappointed. The interface is awful and a new "feature" of Marshmallow is locking you down to that awful launcher. Anything that uses Android TV's media player API is seriously washed out, making my high end HDTV look like a Walmart special. Apparently, complaints show this being a problem since the 6.0 update. This includes Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, anything casted to the device. Oh and not all Chromecast apps work. I was going to give my Chromecast to my grandparents, but ended up plugging it back in. The good? Kodi and emulators look and run fantastic, since neither use Android media API. But the fact these complaints have been around for weeks and Google has not fixed it on a device whose primary purpose is to display video is not encouraging. Wish I got the shield TV.

Well, Nexus TV turns into a great machine with Pacman ROM installed. Kept having more and more issues, so went for broke and flashed it. So glad I did. Video quality is now excellent and my PS4 controller even pairs up.
