Is there a way to control Android TV from a PC?

I'm usually doing something on my laptop while watching TV. I use GNU/Linux. I'm looking for a way to control my Sony Android TV via stand-alone app, browser extension, etc., but haven't had any luck.

I'm able to run the Android TV Remote android app in Chrome and Arc Welder but it can't find the TV. Sony's SideView app just crashes.

Update: I'm able to run Android TV Remote in Genymotion. I still need to use the mouse to click buttons in the app. Would've been nice if I could use the laptop's arrow keys to navigate but I can use the keyboard for text input. Not ideal but better than nothing.

SideView won't install with the error "INSTALL_FAILED_CPU_ABI_INCOMPATIBLE" which seems to be because it's not a native environment.

A lot of VM type things use NAT to provide networking to guests. Maybe running and Android app in chrome does something similar? If so that would explain why it doesn't work.

It would be amazing if there was a Win10 universal app...

This utility app has virtual input over adb
