Nexus Player Bluetooth Remote with IR for TV Control?

by wadel

Hi All, my Nexus Player is my main video player, but since the remote has no IR, it's a pain to keep a second remote around to change volume/power. Is anyone using anything great as a solution? Searching google and Amazon have not yielded anything awesome yet. What are you guys using?

I use my Sony TV remote via HDMI-CEC. Works great, for volume and powering on/off with the TV and soundbar/stereo, using the enter/menu/directional keys on the remote. In Kodi, you can also map common controls like the number keys to secondary menus like the context menu.

This kickstarter may be of some interest. It was funded already. Maybe soon it will be available to purchase directly:

Edit: looks like you can still back it to preorder but ships in December.

The newer "smart" Logitech harmony remotes are supposed to work, but I haven't tested it myself yet.
