This is the only app I use regularly that will put the device to sleep while listening to or watching media.
Has anyone else had this happen? I've seen other posts where consensus seems to be that the google play music app is weak, is that the reason?
Any tricks to keep the device on while listening to music but still have sleep mode available?

Just started using the app and noticed the same problem. I'm still in my 3 month trial after getting the Shield, but come on Google...
Sadly spotify won't even cast to Android TV (or chromecast).
Literally having this problem right now as I sit here trying to listen to more than 2-3 songs in a row. Wish Google supported Google Music and AndroidTV more.
Settings > Daydream > When to Sleep > Never
