How can I watch ESPN on my Shield TV?

by mouser58907

I have a WatchESPN account and would like to be able to watch it on my TV. There doesn't seem to be an app for it. I have ESPN 3 working through a Kodi add-on, but not the regular ESPN stations.

Cast it from the WatchESPN app on your phone or tablet.

If you are looking for live feeds you can try mobdro.com or Kodi

A SlingTV subscription includes ESPN.

You might be able to download the app from somewhere like apkmirror then push it to your shield with something like ES File Explorer's ftp server and install it that way.

I have contacted WatchESPN and Nvidia countless times already over this. I am contacting them once a day until they fix this.

The only way to do it right now is casting from your phone. There isn't an app for android tv yet, and can't do it through Kodi or anything. I've been searching for a solution for a long time...

I currently have it installed on my Nexus Player. It has also been set up to appear on my menu instead of the sideload launcher. The other comment about casting is probably a better option as the UI is not formatted for ATV and you definitely need a mouse to use it.

Works though.....

The nvidia shield doesn't support watchespn natively? Yikes. My own fault for assuming this would be an all around upgrade from the firetv I already have. How is it even possible that this is missing? Another thread on this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tv/help/watchespn-t3173570
