Are you running the HDMI though a receiver at all? If so then the receiver has to support HDMI 2 to pass the 4K along. Also make sure that the input on your TV is the correct one. On my Samsung TV not all the HDMI ports support 4K. If it is neither of those things then it is likely something to do with the box. It took me a while but I am getting 4K from the Shield TV.
I found out the problem. The problem is my TV just supports HDMI 1.4 so just 4k@30fps. They were the ones confusing me. The Box actually can send 4k@60fps as you can see in a lot of videos.
I get your point, but the good thing about Android is, that anyone can build something for/with it. The Box works really good
this is not an actual Android TV box, this is a hacked together Android made for TV made by a sketchy Chinese manufacture.
I googled the OS for this, and it is running Android 5.1 which doesn't support 4k officially. The first Android to do this is Android 6.0. The manufacture may have added 4K support (like Nvidia has) but I doubt it. Also this probably won't have 4k app support, and may not even have HD Netflix support.
I highly suggest you buy a Nvidia Shield TV as this has official support from Google and supports 4k. If that is too expensive buy a Nexus Player (~$70) which doesn't has 4k.
