Can the ShieldAndroidTV receive live TV feed even if not the 500GB version?

Question

I'm not sure I would have a need to record live tv, but would quite like to be able to watch it all the same. (Thinking of buying the 16gb model)

HDHomeRun Tuner is what I use to get live TV (OTA) on my Shield TV. From there I just use the LiveTV or HDHomerun app to watch.

There is no HDMI input to the shield, there is an output

If you have a HDHomeRun tuner (OTA or Cablecard) then it doesn't matter what model you have.  If you are trying to get live tv from your existing cablebox, then no.

Thanks for the answers guys, I think I will look into HDHOMERUN tuners, although iirc, they are more standard in the US (British user here).

If you are buying a hdhomerun in the UK it will not work with dvb-t (digital tv). If you've found one that does work let me know as I'll buy one
