Live Channels Apps?

by der_sponge

Hello,

I just got a new Nexus player and I was wondering which apps support Live Channels. I currently have The Weather Network and Pluto TV working on it, albeit kinda sluggish.

Since Android Marshmallow 6.0 will bring mpeg-2 support to android TV, I am thinking of getting hdhomerun. I know that will support Live Channels.

Are there any other apps that integrate with Live Channels on Android TV?

There's my open source project Cumulus TV, which allows users to add and play any HLS stream: https://github.com/fleker/cumulustv

SilconDust has a tuner that transcodes to h264, the HDHomerun Extend I think (names have change). This is what I use with my Nexus Player to avoid mpeg-2 issues.

Hmmm. Can't get Pluto to show in the live channels on my Sony X850c. It detects the weather channel but won't import them, just says none found.

didn't the NP already get MPEG2 in an update? (pre-M) [edit: guess not]
