I would still wait until September 29, might be a refreshed Chromecast and Nexus Player.
This is exciting. Clearing stock for new inventory?
Is it worth it? Absolutely. Possibly only for a few days though. I would wait to see what they are going to put out.
For those worried about the storage capacity M has the ability to format USB drives as system storage. This means it pools with the internal 5GB. You can get a USB-OTG hub for cheap online just make sure it has a thin micro end especially if you have a thick HDMI cable.
I got one that's mostly just a Plex client, with Play Music and YouTube being used occasionally.
I already had a Chromecast which did all of these, but I definitely prefer the NP for Plex now. The AndroidTV app has what I've wanted as a feature in Plex since I started using it: Once you are looking at a movie it will have recommendations under it (from your library) based on the following:
Similar movies/genres
More by director
More by lead actor
More by second actor.
As far as I can tell, none of those are available as options in the Android app or the webapp (which is surprising).
And I especially love that Plex is fully AndroidTV integrated so that it shows my "on deck" listing without even opening the app (is there an official name for the top row in AndroidTV?)
Yes unless there is a new nexus plyaer coming in 2 weeks
Dude, I'm playing Arkham Knight on it, streamed straight from my desktop PC in the living room to my bedroom Nexus Player. No lag, and looks awesome. Buy it!
I got one yesterday and set it up to replace an old, power hungry HTPC. I'm loving it and it does everything I want so far. This is my first streaming box /android TV system. I can't recommend it enough!
