For some reason Modern Combat 5 isn't recognizing neither my Nvidia Shield or Mogo Pro controllers. I figured they should work since the game is in the Play Store and I've also seen some people on YouTube demoing it on the Shield. Any suggestion?

Thanks very much for this. Just spent 15 minutes of my life trying to get past the screen demanding age/gender. I had a logitech wireless mouse plugged in. This is on Android 6 now. This still hasn't been fixed five months on. Unplugged mouse dongle and hit every button on shield game pad. Finally something came up and said gamepad was disconnected. Then it started working. What an insane PITA.
if you have another input device connected to it like a wireless keyboard then you have to unplug it. thats what happened to me cause I have the logitech k400 and it wouldnt recognize the controller
