Q: Does the Shield TV have Bluetooth lag with remotes like the Logitech harmony home/smart control?

by getcashmoney

I got a Nexus Player yesterday, and I love it except for one reason, which will likely cause me to return it. The Bluetooth connection is laggy and unreliable. My Logitech Harmony Home Control controls every other home electronic perfectly with no lag, but with the Nexus Player, it has about a half second of lag, and often it will just stop working for about 30 seconds. Also, every time I use the remote after I haven't used it for a few minutes, its like the NP has to wake up the Bluetooth connection, because it doesn't respond for about 2-3 seconds. It's really frustrating, and using the included remote isn't an option.

Does anyone use a Logitech Harmony remote with the Shield TV? Does it have an option for WiFi direct control like Roku? Is the Bluetooth more reliable and responsive?

Edit: I ended up ordering an IR receiver and to hook up to my Nexus Player. I have heard there is no delay when using IR compared to Bluetooth.

I use the Harmony Smart Control with the Nvidia Shield TV and I haven't noticed any delay. Shield recognizes it as a Bluetooth keyboard.

Btw, I corrected Harmony Smart Keyboard USB receiver via OTG to the Player. No more lags and stutters.

My shield TV acts like any other device with my logitech harmony. No lag.
