So far they've been quite good at updating my Android TV (x850c), so I don't have any reason to believe they're giving up on them already. I'm sure we'll see an update for them.
I feel like Sony's answer is, " Maybe. Maybe Not. Maybe Fuck Yourself.
I'm quite curious about this too, it's really hard to find anything around indicating whether they will or not but I have a feeling they may upgrade them eventually due to the fact they didn't enable the HDD Recording feature on their first wave software, so they will have to release something regardless.
