I was using a new nexus player in my kitchen and so far everything was working quite well. I moved the player to my bedroom upstairs and now I am getting vertical ghost lines on my screen (even on the home screen). I started moving the player around with little effect. Swapped out different HDMI cables. Even unplugged just about everything else nearby (except the cable box which I guess I could try, but I have another nexus player in another room literally one inch from the cable box without a problem).
The cable box hooked to the same TV works great. Right now, the only thing I can think of is that this TV is much older than the others and is 720p instead of 1080p. Not sure why that would make a difference, though, especially since it works well with the cable box.
I was also wondering if since the player is further from the router, could it be turning the radio on the player to a higher gain thus interfering with the TV.
If you move your player back to the kitchen TV does it work fine?
All of your troubleshooting so far points to the TV / TV port, could be a faulty HDMI port on your TV. If your on the home screen no radio waves should make it have a ghost effect.
