Does anyone have Bittorrent Sync working well on Android TV?

by infomofo

I was able to sideload bittorrent sync but I'm unable to control it.

I really want to keep a directory of my PSP game saves in sync between my Samsung S6 Edge and My NVIDIA shield. I use Bittorrent Sync to sync other directories between my phone and my tablet, so I thought this would be the way to go, but even though I've been able to sideload the apk to my nvidia shield, once it's launched I can't add a directory. Does anyone have any luck getting Bittorrent Sync or other similar folder syncing apps working on Android TV?

I haven't considered this before, but Android TV sounds like a natural choice for sync apps since an Android TV box would never be moved, always on, and has a really fast connection. It could easily do some light syncing when nobody is watching any TV on it. You should email the devs of apps like BT Sync and Syncthing and tell them to add some kind of Android TV support so people can use their device to act as another backup node. Or bring it up on the forums for those apps?

I wonder if you could set up a network drive and play remotely. I think if you run Ethernet it could be fast enough to play without having to host the files. ES is what I would use, although I've heard its gone bad or something.

Edit: sorry I thought you had a pc hosting the files

SyncThing is an open source alternative that has an Android app.
