New to Android TV

by Gamer_Guy314

I just recently bought a Sony Bravia TV that has Android TV built in. What are some things I need to know or should be aware of?

You can use ES File Explorer to access pretty much all cloud services. Comes in handy for sideloading .apk that aren't listed in the ATV play store.

& you should look into console emulation if retro gaming is your thing. Not sure how the Sony tv's handle it but the Nexus Player runs everything up to N64 fairly well.

FWIW, I did not have a good experience with emulation on mine. Using ClassicBoy, there was enough input lag (both PS4 and wired USB controllers) to ruin the experience.

Everything else has worked pretty well. If you have Plex, definitely get that app. The updated PBS app is really good too.

I've also just bought one - when signed into Google, is there any way other people using the tv can access my emails etc.? That's something I'd like to keep private. They can access my games, movies and music all they want.

Saying that, I noticed that it appears to be possible for someone to unsubscribe me from Music All Access. That's worrying...

FYI - The entire reason I bought one was to install Kodi and 1Channel.
