Apologies as I am not technologically savvy. My husband surprised me with a brand-new android TV box. However when I try to watch movies on it using prime wire (Kodi) I often get halfway through the movie and then it stops working. Is this just a problem that happens with Android or is there some way to fix this? I feel like I need an Android Tv for Dummies book. The box is MXQ if that matters.
Ask him if he can return it and get you a Nexus Player instead. ;-)
have you tried tv shows? Can you make it through 25 minutes? What is your internet speed? You may be a victim of the site and buffering to your computer also. There are many possibilities, I don't have a MXQ so I can't help much, but there are some ideas. You could try to uninstall Kodi and then reinstall and only stick the one addon on and see if that works. I had my nexus player freeze on me, uninstalled, reinstalled and it was fine.
You are probably best finding a primewire support forum. If it is a supported (i.e. not illegal) addon you could possibly get help on Kodi's forums.
Also, it is not an Android TV box. The only Android TV boxes are the Nexus Player, Razer Forge (which isn't great), NVidia Shield, and a few TV models from Sony (and a some other manufacturers I think). You have a box that connects to your TV that runs a variant of Android. Google did no one a favor with their naming convention.
