My Nexus Player Remote seems to have kicked the bucket. Is it possible to buy a replacement? I could have sworn I'd seen them for sale separately for $20 or something, but now I can't even find them on eBay. Any ideas?

They are not for sale, I have heard you can use the Amazon Fire stick as a replacement. You can also use the Nvidias shield remote but it will be kinda expensive.

after some troubleshooting I think I found the problem with these remotes..
If you take a screwdriver or utility knife and bend the contacts forward a little bit it will make better contact with the batteries..
After I did this, the troubled remote came back to life..
The problem I was having is that it would flash in sync mode for a few times, then seemingly die, I also noticed some corrosion on the batteries which further clued me in..

I don't think you can buy just the remote, but a lot of bluetooth devices work. Maybe look into a small bluetooth keyboard and just use the arrow and enter keys to navigate.
I've been looking and have found a few Bluetooth remotes that should work. I've been able to pair my firetv remote with our issue, but I'm still looking to purchase a 3rd party option
