DNS

by Trunk_z

Hi,

Been Googling for a bit now, nothings really come up though.

Recently bought a Shield TV - I'm based in the UK, my partner loves watching Bones which is only available on the US Netflix. I have changed the DNS to make it work by changing my network settings to manual.

Is there an app which makes switching easier? For example: having 2 sets of manual settings? It doesn't remember my manual settings after reverting to auto.

Any apps that I could sideload?

Cheers!

Edit: Thanks for the help guys, I'll look into them!

I strongly recommend the Unotelly DNS service.

I've been using it for almost 2 years after trying many providers. Other than the website, they have Android and Apple apps that allow changing your Netflix region and many other region restricted apps with one click. You can also have apps from many different regions running at the same time without having to change every time with their option called Dynamo.

Also, they are really cheap anyway but at the moment they also have a 40% off promotion ongoing until the 4th of December ($2.97 per month compared to the usual 4.95 that I pay as an old customer). Moreover, you can try for free for 8 days so there's nothing to lose.

If you decide to try it, please let me know your thoughts. I'm sure you'll love it. Please keep in mind that I am in no way affiliated with Unotelly.

You could pay for SmartDNS (not a VPN) from CactusVPN which is a region unblocker that runs about $4 A month. It does not affect internet speeds at all. I've been using it with NFLGP all season with no issues. CactusVPN supports DDNS so it is the easiest to use for those who don't have a static WAN IP.

There are some free ones out there, too. Google "region unblocker".
