I used the most recent alpha build of Mupen64plus. I was able to use an xbox 360 via usb otg as well as a bluetooth connected controller. I was also able to run high res texture packs as well, although it is a bit demanding. I found that the playstore version of Mupen64 wasn't as friendly as the nightly builds
With emulators you can't just download an app and run the games, correct? There is a fair amount of tinkering involved as well as knowledge on how to get them set up? I'd love to run some NES games on my Shield but haven't dove much into emulators.
Mupen64 is what I use, works perfectly
