I emailed these guys on October 29th. They were originally listed as one of the apps that would have Live Channels support back in the spring. The initial response I got was boiler plate:

Hey Andrroid,

I’ve looked into your request and indeed we are working on getting onto the Live Channels app, we’re just not quite ready to launch. Keep an eye out for TED content in the future, though. And thanks for your interest in TED!

So hopefully that will be +1 Live Channels source soon. Its not SlingTV but its something. Lesson of the story - email developers of apps you are interested in having Live Channels support! It might do nothing or it might perk some ears and get things rolling.
