Sony Bravia Youtube casting issue

by brac20

Hi, I have a Sony Bravia 55x8509c. It runs on Android TV and therefore has Google Cast built in. Whenever I cast a YouTube video from my phone the sound is a good half a second (minimum, sometimes this can be several seconds) ahead of the picture.

Anyone come across this? Or know of a fix? Other casting apps seem fine, and using the Android TV Youtube app is ok but it's not very user friendly.

I had audio syncing issues on my 850c--not specific to youtube or casting, but a reboot (hold power on the remote) seemed to fix the problem.

Had a problem like that on a slightly different model. Manually checked for a firmware update, there was one that it hadn't notified me of, and after the update the problem went away. Worth trying.

I have the same TV, although I think you meant XBR55X850C? Not 9C?

Anyway, I haven't tried the casting yet but why don't you just save it to an ongoing playlist and use the built in app on the tv? Whenever you see something you want to watch, just save it to that playlist and when you get in front of the tv (if you're not already) it'll be there waiting for you.

Or couldn't you just watch it for a few seconds on your phone and then go to the app and it will be under "recently watched"?

I know these are workarounds but they might even be easier than the casting. Hope it helps.

Go to apps and disable the system builtin YouTube app. The casting feature was removed in the updated TV YouTube app. Then you can cast using the Google streaming option. You will lose the option to watch YouTube without your phone but for me that was the fix.
