If you have an Nvidia Shield, try running Dolphin. It works fantastically.

by steamfishandrice

I had almost forgot Dolphin had Android builds, ever since they dropped 32bit ARM support Dolphin fell to the back of my mind. But when I got the Shield, I gave Dolphin a shot and holy fucking shit, it runs fantastically. I'm talking near full speed performance on many, many games, with minimal glitches and bugs. ARM64 support is still fairly new so don't expect flawless emulation, but if you have a Shield that you're using for gaming, this is definitely something else you can throw up there.

Here's a brand new build from today, straight from Dolphin's website: https://dl.dolphin-emu.org/builds/dolphin-master-4.0-8373.apk

Every single one of their builds can be found at https://dl.dolphin-emu.org/builds/ . Very commonly there are multiple builds per day, so definitely keep checking it out if you're really interested.

At first I thought you were talking about the web browser.

What games have you tested?

Are currently running the build you posted?

I followed the optimization below and I'm not getting the performance he is seeing. Wondering if the new build works better.

My understanding is the latest Android version breaks the ability to pair a WiiMote. They took away some functionality in the Bluetooth drivers. Is this true? Can anyone pair a WiiMote?

I successfully ran Mario kart DD but for some reason couldn't use the controller on it?

Had anyone managed to get soul calibur 2 going? I couldn't manage it.

I haven't had much luck with Wii games. Maybe ill try a more recent build. I'm sure I could try again with more tweaking.

my dream is emulation all the way up to ps2/cube working great on this box (with hopefully 2x-3x uprendering). seems cube will be able to get there one day, doubtful about the ps2.

I tried the mario karts (the wii one and double dash): the wii one doesn't work for the controller situation. Double dash works, but multiplayer isn't working even if the app recognizes the xbox controller for the second player. Such a bummer. I hope they will resolve it because the graphics are very good.

Thanks for the tip!

I installed it and looks awesome. I have Mario Tennis and it looks fantastic, however during gameplay there are some speed issues- it seems a little laggy. I don't know if it's related, but the audio also gets a little choppy.

Any performance tweaks or suggestions to improve speed and audio? I'm running on an nvidia shield.

Does anyone recommend the "best" Nintendo 64 emulator

It's pretty cool.

I downloaded the latest version of Dolphin today (Dec 26 apk) and tested out a copy of New Super Mario Bros for Wii.
I had to do some control binding and some tweaking of the settings, but after that...wow I am impressed.
Quality is fantastic and FPS is around 50-60.

I plan to try out Super Mario Kart next once it's finished downloading.

I'm having serious issues setting up Dolphin. None of the games seem to work. I can't switch from software renderer mode. Any suggestions?
