Why does Netflix app start automatically when turning on my shield TV? Is this a setting I can change? Does anyone else have this issue? It does this even if I was using another app when I powered it off previously. Not a huge deal, just curious. Thanks.
Ya this is not something mine does. Is the shield new? Update the Netflix app? I had to manually update mine for some odd reason.
If other suggestions do not work you may try clearing netflix data/cache in the Android App settings.

The only time this happens to me is when I'm watching netflix and turn off my TV. It has simple link tech so it auto turns of my shield as well. When I turn my TV back on then start my shield it auto launches into my last app. Does this for YouTube, Pluto TV, sling, and netflix.
You're probably not turning it off and on but rather putting it in and out of sleep mode. The last app will still be open when you sleep/wake the device.
Never happened to me.
