I like having auto play, but the YouTube app only auto plays videos from the suggestions queue, not from the queue I selected. Is it possible to remove suggestions?

This is something I absolutely loathed about new Youtube app.
Before Android TV existed, I had an android box, to which I installed the Google TV Youtube app. It didn't look good, but it was perfect nonetheless. It played exactly what you wanted, and would , like we can now, show selections of clips when pressing down. The big difference was that it would show you the next clips in the queue and, if you clicked down more it would show you suggestions and one more again would show you clips from the same source you'd currently be watching. It made so much more sense and made viewing content a breeze. Then they forced us to update to this crappy version of the Android TV's Youtube. Which removed ALL these features?!
This version on Android TV completely sucks when compared to the Google TV version and that quite insane...
