Live Channels and local files

by meanween2000

I love the Live Channels app and the possibility of it. I currently use it mainly with my HDHomeRun and any other app the supports it. I also use Plex a lot. I have multiple playlists that get shuffled to simulate network channels.

Does anyone know a way to incorporate local/network files into the Live Channels app? I've used PseudoTV to do this in XBMC. I don't see Plex being involved at all, but maybe an app that would read a network folder, or an desktop app that creates an m3u8 file or something that can be dropped into CumulusTV.

I found this link, but the ShieldTV is the first android device I've owned and I'm not too familiar with the framework.

That is exactly what I have been curious about. I have over 200tb of content at home and it would be awesome to throw tv shows or even movies on say 5 channels and do that. Does anyone know if this is possible?

It would be cool if you could create a playlist with Plex, designate it as a channel and then have said channel show in the live channels app.

It requires some developer integration.

You can do this with cummulous tv and a playlist file. Is it m3u ? It won't be perfect, but you can at least add local files to playlist, with icons, ect. I've personally used this app to add twitch channels.

Yeah it would be nice. Pseudo TV Live is trash and the author is a real pain to deal with.

Never considered this, but yeah, this would be awesome.
