Best way to send files besides ES file explorer?

ES has been really buggy lately for me, not to mention the horrible interface for a TV. Are there any better alternatives for sending files over WiFi that are optimized for Android TV?

Install AirDroid on it. Then use the web interface to send or download files from it.

I couldn't ever send files to my tv using ES. I'm on the pro version. I would upload my files to Google Drive and then download and install from ES. Going to try Airdroid

I've been using this ssh server app. It's ugly as sin but it's the only one that is even slightly usable on Android TV. You may need a mouse for initial setup, but after that it's possible to at least start and stop the server with the remote.
