You could try sideloading the app and seeing how it runs. Ive sideloaded a different security camera app and it works well

Do those cams support RTSP streams or just the lame proprietary stuff?

You could try a camera app that has Chromecast support if you can't sideload the app. Tinycam Monitor on the play store is the one I use to cast my IP webcam, maybe it has support for the Nest camera?

You can side load, but I think you need a mouse to select the cam

I side loaded it, but yes you do need a mouse. It works fine.
