Looking for media streaming hardware similar to roku 3 audio features.

by drakandrey

I am looking for a media streaming stick or device that connects to your tv via hdmi that can transmit audio through a remote or your smartphone (if that's possible), similar to the roku 3. However, I am looking for it to be android app compatible. I have seen some android-based media sticks online with Bluetooth, but I believe that would not allow me to connect headphones to those devices (I am looking to connect either hardwire or Bluetooth headphones). Thank you for any input!

Nvidia shield TV has this capability with the remote or controller. The shield is pretty awesome too if you wanna stream from an nvidia card and don't wanna deal with steam in home streaming's shite performance.

The nexus player supports Bluetooth media audio. I've used Bluetooth headphones to watch TV on mine when I need to keep things quiet at home.

Thank you for your suggestions! I didn't know the Nvidia shield and nexus player had those capabilities. I also found out that Amazon fire stick/box have Bluetooth headphone capabilities too. You do have to sideload google apps, but that's ok. Thanks again!

Ok, amazon headphone Bluetooth profiles only work with the box; the article I read said it was coming out for the stick eventually.
