Is the nvidia shield the best android tv/game system with android tv.

i was going to buy the 500gb version and 2 controllers.

mr_yuk

Yes, by a huge margin.

Andrroid

Don't buy the 500GB version. Buy the 16GB version and add your own external drive when the 6.0 update comes out.

If the HDD on the device fails, you're SoL. If it dies on an external, nbd.

Yes, but if you're expecting it to stand in place of an Xbox One, PS4, or Wiiu, it does not have their libraries. It is always accumulating new games, but so are they, and they get much bigger titles.

wizardgand

Yes, I use it more than my PS4.

Got 100+ emulation titles playing old favorites. Got some good party games. and if you get a pretty decent PC you can use it to stream PC games.

chuckLTE

Totally. Currently, its the only gaming device I own (aside from gaming on my phone occasionally). It's got a solid (though small) collection of great titles, but, in my opinion, GeForce Now offers the best gaming experience on the Shield TV as long as you have a solid internet connection.

Humpsel

Yes.

What if gaming is not a preference? Would you guys go with AFTV?

I just missed the $25 Nexus players at Walmart. So I am looking for another Android TV box for the Kodi app and all the added sources. I am a big live sports fan. Thanks for the help.
