After figuring out which hdmi port is hdcp compliant my Netflix is up and running. The issue I am having is some shows (Bob's Burgers for example) have completely garbled/distorted 5.1 output. If it go into the show's Netflix menu and manually change it to Stereo it sounds ok. (My initial theory is that the show is a stereo audio source, and something is garbling it in the surround conversion). Kodi plays my local 5.1 content crystal clear.
My setup is as follows:
Shield TV >>> Denon avr-891 (7.1) >>> Samsung PN59d550 (speakers disabled)
Edit: Typo in receiver model number.
I don't see Bob's Burgers as 5.1. This lends me to believe that this is a receiver settings issue. What setting on your receiver are you using when you play 5.1 content from Kodi? What setting when you use Netflix?
Have you tried any actual 5.1 content on Netflix (i.e. House of Cards)?
