Shield TV low volume?

by lugo3

I'm having some issues with volume out of the shield TV, the volume is very low compared to a ps4 on the same tv. Both are connected to a samsung tv Ju7100 series and every time I change inputs to put the ps4 on, I have to lower the volume on the TV because it's so loud. Is there was an issue here, is there a way to fix this?

Have you tried adjusting the volume using the shield controller? Those buttons tend to get hit mistakenly.

Sorry if this sounds like the obvious... Have you increased the volume on the Shield itself? The Shield is just a computer (much like a windows machine) and has volume control built in. So, you can adjust volume with the Shield controller. I turn mine all the way up and then just use my tv controller from there.

Some TVs will allow you to adjust the default volume level per input. Look for it in your TVs settings menu.

If it's not available then maybe look into updating your TVs firmware to see if it's been added.

I recently got a JU6075 and am having the same issue on my Shield TV, this previously worked just fine on my Panasonic TV. This affects all apps on the Shield and only on the Shield, not having this issue on my Chromecast, PS4, the apps in the TV itself and so on. Did you ever solve this?

I just recently fell on to this problem...Had my shield connected to my Samsung tv, worked great for months, then all of a sudden the volume is really low on the shield, I've turned it up all the way, I've messed with the sound options. Doesn't matter the app, the sound is really low. The Firmware hasn't been update on the tv or shield in this time.

I also have a PS4 on the same tv and its really loud. So there is something definitely happening with the Shield TV.
