Solid Explorer Coming to Android TV In The Coming Months

I'd buy it. I've been wanting to get rid of ES File Explorer from my Nexus Player.

I would buy it right now if I could. Tired of disabling updates in Google Play so that I can hold onto an old version of ES File Explorer that doesn't have all the crappy bloat and remote control navigation issues.

Edit: For those interested, this is the version of ES File Explorer I am using that is IMHO the best version for Android TV (doesn't have the bloat and navigation is mostly intuitive): http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/es-global/es-file-explorer/es-file-explorer-3-2-5-5-android-apk-download/ Just remember to disable Google Play auto updates otherwise, you'll be back on the version with bloatware.

I would also buy it. ES File explorer works but its UI on TV is complete shit and I hate having it on my phone.

I hope that it will gonna have a better controller implementation that Es because i cannot stand having to plug a mouse just to use the file explorer. Also Es file explorer is really on the downslide, every 10 days a new ad appears where before there was useful information

Hope this will shed some light on devoplment for Android TV other then side loading apps

I bought AnExplorer. It seems to work well

RelayTech

I bought it for my Phone and tablet. A solid app, worth the $.

This just made my day. Ive been using the horrible ES File Explorer to access my ftp from home. Cant wait for SE to come to AndroidTV. Already paid for on my Nexus

I'd definitely pay again for TV support, but i hope the dev can make it an update to the existing app. Apps designed specifically for the TV seem to get abandoned while their mobile counterparts are updated (e.g. all Google apps on Android TV).

I have been trying to get a simple way to install non-TV apps to my Android TV. Right now ES Explorer has the smoothest implementation I have found, but I would rather using Solid Explorer. Does anyone know how it is possible to make it work as smoothly as ES Explorer?

I've already sideloaded it onto my Shield. It works pretty well, though a mouse is needed.
