First impressions:
Update: The CPU count issue in Kodi is UI only, it still uses all cores for decoding. So I guess my playback issues are due to something else. I've looked at the official Kodi forum today and no one seems to be having more stuttering than usual after the 3.0 update.
So many games to install after I add my thumb drive:
Wow, looks like it contains a lot of good fixes too. They have a 4k @ 59.9 FPS option, full HDR as opposed to limited... Awesome!
Woo hoo. I look forward to trying this when I get home tonight.
Reformatting my sdcard as internal storage went smoothly, but after connecting an external HDD I get no further options to format this drive as well. Does anyone know if adding internal storage is limited to only 1 drive?
Will apps need to be moved back to internal storage before the new expansion option being activated to avoid data loss or any other backups needed?
So how does having apps currently on the SD card that I want to make internal storage? Does it format the card and I have to reinstall all those games or does it keep the games? Thanks!
For anyone curious Minecraft: PE works perfectly with this update, before this update the screen turned into a garbled mess.
Thanks, just turned on my TV after seeing this thread and saw the pop-up for the update.
I'm now setting up my SD card as internal storage but it's taking forever (backing up data sitting at 0%). Hopefully this starts going somewhere soon.
Is it just me, apps and games are limited to single row now instead of adding a row
I have to scroll more now to reach the end of the row.
I see HBO Now listed under "Optimizations for new apps and games". Does this mean less video stuttering in HBO Now?
After some testing and an hour with nvidia's support I can say the patch notes saying they fixed comparability with Denon receivers is inaccurate. Still only get a pcm stereo signal through hdmi rather than a surround sound signal.
I noticed my right stick now works as a cursor in Chrome and some other handheld apps. No touchpad though.
Everything went very well for me.
What I did was, move all apps to internal storage (since I don't have that many), deselect use of the SD card automatically, restart, update, restart, update controllers, and format SD/move data. That last couple of steps took about 20 minutes for me.
Kodi works fine, but per the warning when you move data, my intense 3D games like Breakneck and Airborne 8 were both slower to load - however in actual gameplay barely any difference and I hope they 'settle in.'
Love that new picture quality with full range, since my Samsung dumb TV supports it.
My remote even got an update! Unfortunately the voice search function is still not functioning
Full Dynamic Range looks awesome. Blacks are finally black.
