TVheadend Live channels integration

by serpentxx

I have TVHeadend set up at home with all my local channels, i want to integrate it into androidTV's live channels but i have only found tutorials for KODI, anyone know of some apps that can do this? i thought about CumulusTV but i want to know if theres others or if CumulusTV plays nice with EPG data from a TVheadend stream.

I posted a method few threads back but noone bothered to read, perhaps you will:

"Yes there is, all you need to do is to set up a Sat>IP server in tvheadend and use an app that will receive the streams and parse into Live Channels, such as Aurora TV or Inaris Sat>IP. I recommend the former though.

Follow the second post in this page to setup your tvheadend server: http://wetekforums.com/vb5/forum/wetek-play/linux/openelec/13128-tvh-sat-ip-server

The pictures seem to be lost but you can see them if you copy their link in browser and open in new page. You have to set the relevant reception to 1 in exported tuners in order to have scan ability and show up in the app on nexus player(Use dvb-t2 if using terrestrial and want HD channels).

Remember you have to use a recent version of tvheadend(4.0+) in order to see these options, if using an outdated one, either update from an official repository or build from source.

Then restart your tvheadend server and install Aurora TV app. Choose your country and let it scan for Sat>Ip servers. After choosing the tuner your have exported in tvheadend, the app will scan all frequencies and start parsing your channels. They are automatically added to Live Channels as well.

Tell me if you get stuck somewhere and try restarting your server and/or nexus player few times if it don't show up in app. Enjoy!"

I believe Live channels only works with HLS streams. can tvheadend do that?

Hey /u/wejgomi, i had no issue setting up RTSP and finding my tvheadend server in AuroraTV/Inaris Sat>IP, and i had to set the exported tuner DVB-T to 1 as i dont think australia has DVB-T2.

Problem now is its just not finding any stations, ive left it going for 10 minutes before giving up and restarting tvheadend/nexus player.

I do have tv channels and EPG setup in tvheadend, i can view the streams in VLC with the m3u files

Just wanted to add that i grabbed the TVHClient for my android smartphone and the TVHClient for Kodi on my nexus player and they worked without issue, so im beginning to think the issue is with AuroraTV?

No idea what i did after giving up, i went back into it a day and a half later, it showed my DVB-T source as SERVERNAME af2836a01a (Difference now is its not showing a port number) did a scan and it found TV:21 Radio:3 within 10 seconds

Still missing 9 stations though, and i have no idea what to do now, it just gets stuck at tuning 198500 KHz, the timer goes up and i cannot progress?
