My NVIDIA Shield comes tomorrow!

It was originally a 'development' machine (I'm a games developer) but it will likely become my main TV box. I've got an Xbone and a PS4 already, and while my Xbone has served its purpose as a home media centre for a good couple of years, the interface sucks and Microsoft are a terrible , terrible company.

Do you guys think it has been worth it? Are there any must-have apps/games? Do you have any good Tasker profiles? I'm thinking text popups and voice control for my Hue lights and WeMo switches, but I can't think of anything else!

Kodi and/or Plex.

Be sure to update it to Marshmallow. Also, enable developer mode, then go into those settings, under Draw, change to transition animations to 0.5x. Makes it feel even faster. Even though it already BLAZES.

I just did the same and sold my xbox for a shield tab since the Xbox (with kinect) was a glorified remote in our house. I do all my gaming on my ps4 anyways. Mine should be coming in a few days as well. Enjoy man!

I only use it for Kodi. Other than that Android TV isn't my favorite but I haven't tried Marshmallow yet. I haven't turned it on since football season ended. I prefer the ATV and their interface even though the Shield is a powerful beast.
