Avoiding MLB.TV blackouts

by bradowatson

Has anyone had success getting around MLB.TV blackouts on Android TV? In the past I've used a Kodi/XBMC plugin with unblock-us so I could watch the Braves in Charlotte, but I really like the native app for Android TV and would prefer to use that. I tried the guide in the link last year on my Fire TV but didn't have any success. I'm going to play around with it again today on my Shield TV to see if I can get it working, but I was just wondering if anyone had any pro tips.

I use [AdFree Time] ( https://adfreetime.com/ ) and it works fantastic. You set it up at the router level so anything that connects through the router automatically re-directs. Just use MLB.TV natively and no blackouts. Even works for national blackouts like ESPN games.

Did you ever have any luck with this? I got a Nexus Player in the off-season and have unblock-us set up at the router level and have had no joy today.

No luck here. I've been playing around with xPrivacy with no success. Works on my Android phone and tablet but not my shield TV. The kodi add-on works fine with unblock-us. Just isn't as nice looking as the app.
