I've read a lot about Netflix not working on the Forge TV, but no reasons for exactly why. If it's in the Android TV Play Store, shouldn't it work regardless of device? (Similar to how apps in the phone Play Store work?)

Only Netflix knows for sure but I'll take a jab at speculating: Netflix probably wants to license their application directly to OEMs instead of through the play store so that Netflix has a say on exactly which hardware they want to ship on. It probably involves money and Razor probably doesn't want to pay.
