We are looking for 2 4k tv's to play a little commercial for our company. They need to play the file from a USB, does anyone have any idea if this is possible? And if so, do we need a dual core tv/quad core tv etc?

Has to be a Sony 4k tv for this(any Sony 4k will do) and you might need to install the VLC for Android app, source: own Sony tv
Philips Android TV also can play 4k videos from USB (and LAN). From what I heard it has better built-in video player than Sony one.

I have a Sony x830c and it can play 4k videos from a pen drive. Its run really nice.
The only way to know is you check the specs of every smart tv, or ask the manufacturers
