Please mods, would you post a sticky about the "fake" android boxes that are not officially supported? Every time i go through posts here, there is at least one poor redditor who has to explain the cons about these boxes. Seems like it would be easier to just sticky information about it.
Would definitely be nice to have a post we can just reference.
For instance, on the /r/hometheater subreddit, there is a blurb in the sidebar about the subs general consensus on soundbars. People usually just copy and paste it when someone asks about what soundbar to buy.
I do feel sorry for the people posting as it is could be quite easy to confuse this as the sub to go to for such boxes.
But a side bar blurb would help a great deal because after the Nth time of answering the question the responses can easily become mean and put people off returning to the sub.
And/or updating the sidebar to include an explanation for the list of hardware. I think a sticky would help, but should be worded similarly, eg "This subreddit is for devices running AndroidTV only. At present, AndroidTV is only available on..."
"If you are using different hardware, unfortunately your device runs standard Android OS. You should check out..."
